LAKESIDE RACE-WAY ....11TH &12TH JULYWe all have fond memories of Lake Side raceway. If you want to be part of the hype and fanfare of this exciting day, make sure you join us at Lake Side Race-way on the 11th and 12th of July 2009. You'll be in for a treat with a strong representation from the HQ Queensland club plus much more.... make sure to bring your eski, hat and suncream, as well as you best shouting voice. This iconic racetrack has gone through some major changes over the last 10 years. From being left out in the cold to finally being lovingly restored to it's former glory....maybe even better. We'll let you know after the July race meet. Thank god for John Tetly and his team, restoring one of Queensland historic sites Ha! Well we think it's historic......Last year John Tetley took on the council lease and has spent more than $2 million bringing the circuit back to life with new buildings ( check out the tower), a spanky new resurfaced track and plans for championship racing at the iconic circuit. We heard he had budgeted $700,000 for spicing up the diving surface, however as always budgets are meant to be broken and the cost was more like $1,400,000. Money well spent and we thank you!
